Multi-Day Passes to get a Cheap Disney World Ticket

If you are heading to Orlando for that long-awaited trip to Disney, you may be a bit shocked when you see what the tickets are going to cost you. If you have a family of four, a one-day base ticket for each of you can cost you $75 each (plus tax) for a total of $350. If you add three meals at a park for the four of you at an average of $10 per meal (cheap eating) plus some soft drinks and souvenirs, your day can easily be over $500.

If you want to  keep the price down, definitely look into multi-day park passes because they can save you 50% or more on your tickets. Other things you can do are to buy meal packages and look for bundled hotel packages that include meals and tickets. If you decide to go with the meal passes, be sure to get a clear explanation on what you are paying for to determine if you will really eat that much.

The first time I took my family to Disney, we bought the most expensive meal package and found that, by the end of our five-day stay we still had a large credit remaining. Fortunately, we were able to use it on other resort amenities so it wasn’t a total loss but we really over-b0ught by a few hundred dollars. The upside was that I had already budgeted that amount and was able to enjoy our stay without thinking of the expense. For me, that was nice because the entire focus of our trip was on having  a lot of fun with our daughters without worrying about the expenses.

I still think the best strategy is to carefully plan your trip, budget the money in advance, buy your multi-day tickets in advance and enjoy your stay once you are at Disney World.
